Job Title: Auto Body Repair Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Repair Technician to join our team at Carstar Collingwood. As an Auto Body Repair Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles to their original condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate repair costs based on damage examination reports
  • Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure high-quality workmanship
  • Plan and execute repair work to meet customer expectations
  • Provide exceptional customer service and professionalism
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure proper handling and safety
  • Clean and maintain a safe and organized workspace
  • Instruct apprentices and trainees in repair techniques
  • Replace front-end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components
  • File, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
  • Hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces
  • Repair or replace interior components
  • Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs
  • Mix paint, blend, and match colors
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in auto body repair
  • Valid driver's license
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Dependability, flexibility, and reliability
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
