About the Position:

The College of the North Atlantic is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Library Technician II. This position is responsible for performing technical library and administrative work related to the daily operation of the College's Bay St. George Campus Library Learning Commons.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with various library services, including circulation and cataloguing, print and electronic resources, and reference and research support.
  • Maintain records of periodicals and newspapers and compile various reports and statistics.
  • Assist with the Library Learning Commons orientation.
  • Utilize the SIRSI online library system and other online sources.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the library.

Merit Criteria:

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in library studies (equivalencies will be considered).
  • Relevant experience working in a library setting.

Assessment Criteria:

  • Knowledge of library operations.
  • Knowledge of computer applications and software.
  • Knowledge of SIRSI – an asset.
  • Client-service focused.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational/time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Conditions of Employment:

  • When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.
  • Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.

Pay: $41,605.00-$45,827.00 per year
