Job Title: Sales Representative
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at Core-Mark International. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing and expanding our sales region, building strong relationships with customers, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow sales and profit margins through analyzing individual customer needs and developing customized sales strategies
- Prospect and onboard new customer accounts, and educate customers on our products and services
- Conduct sales presentations, including product demonstrations and promotions, to drive sales growth
- Execute on sales strategy and territory management, planning a sales approach customized with individual customers
- Perform routine inspections of customers' product sections and displays, and update shelf tags as needed
- Establish a personal relationship with customers to better understand their needs and requirements
- Review weekly/monthly reports with store managers and assist with any opportunities that may arise
- Minimize accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms and following up on any issues
- Communicate changes in product line or marketplace to customers and Core-Mark
- Assist with processing merchandise returns
Requirements:
- Proven success with closing sales for a variety of product lines
- Detail-minded and organized, with an ability to work independently with little direction
- Proven and successful sales ledger travel and effective time management experience
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to conduct professional, results-driven customer presentations
- Solutions-minded with an ability to analyze and critically evaluate situations
- Ability to learn computer programs, systems, and new technology solutions as they relate to the position
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Applications
- Energetic and entrepreneurial spirit
- General knowledge of food safety standards, including basic HACCP practice and cold-chain integrity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with food service, wholesale, or convenience is highly preferred
- Experience with CRM platforms, such as Sales Force, SAP, or Power BI
- 2-4 years of selling with retail convenience and/or foodservice products and programs experience
