Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team as a Lactation Consultant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, complex environment and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert lactation support to antenatal and postpartum women, identifying and consulting on basic and complex breastfeeding problems.
  • Develop and implement individualized breastfeeding and pumping plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients and families.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based best practices in lactation and neonatal care.
Requirements
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Certification.
  • Recent experience in Neonatal ICU.
  • Experience in assessing women during antepartum and postpartum periods who are breastfeeding or providing breast milk for their infants in the NICU.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
