Midas Automotive Technician Job Description

We are looking for skilled automotive technicians to join our team at Midas. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer vehicles.

Duties:

  • Diagnostic and Repair: Utilize state-of-the-art computer systems to diagnose and repair complex issues with customer vehicles.
  • Tire and Brake Services: Provide expert tire and brake services, including tire replacement, brake pad replacement, and brake fluid flushes.
  • Air Conditioning and Heating: Repair and maintain air conditioning and heating systems, including refrigerant recharging and system diagnosis.
  • Steering and Suspension: Repair and maintain steering and suspension systems, including ball joint replacement and strut replacement.
  • Belts and Hoses: Inspect and replace belts and hoses, including serpentine belts and timing belts.
  • Radiator and Engine Cooling Systems: Repair and maintain radiator and engine cooling systems, including fan replacement and coolant flushes.
  • Battery and Starting System: Repair and maintain battery and starting systems, including battery replacement and starter motor replacement.
  • Brake Repair: Repair and maintain brake systems, including brake pad replacement and brake rotor resurfacing.
  • Oil Services: Perform routine oil services, including oil changes and oil flushes.
  • Check Engine Light: Diagnose and repair issues related to the check engine light, including trouble codes and sensor diagnosis.
  • Muffler and Exhaust Services: Repair and maintain muffler and exhaust systems, including muffler replacement and exhaust pipe repair.
  • Visual Safety and Courtesy Inspections: Perform regular visual safety and courtesy inspections to ensure customer vehicles are safe and ready for the road.

Requirements:
  • Automotive Knowledge: Possess a strong knowledge of automotive systems, including brakes, suspension, and engine diagnostics.
  • Technical Skills: Be proficient in the use of shop equipment, including lifts, tire changing equipment, and diagnostic tools.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and provide them with accurate information about their vehicle's condition.
  • Teamwork: Be able to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Adaptability: Be able to adapt to changing situations and priorities, including adapting to new technologies and processes.
