Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team in the ADHD Program at North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $68 per hour.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of client service plans with our integrated case management team. They will plan, prepare, and conduct individual, group, or family counseling sessions using person-centered, strength-based, trauma-informed therapeutic techniques drawn from multiple theoretical frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide parenting skill building to clients on issues such as parent-child interaction, child development, discipline, and guidance, and behavior management
- Participate in integrated case management meetings or meet with professionals and social workers to report clients' activities and progress, discuss case planning issues and concerns, and evaluate the effectiveness of the counseling intervention
- Liaise with other community service providers, professionals to coordinate services and ensure that interests of clients are considered in decisions affecting them
- Conduct oneself as a positive role model to clients and the community
- Participate in regular staff meetings, supervision, program consultation, and performance evaluations/appraisals
- Input data into web-based programs
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Two years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- A valid Class 5 BC driver's license (with no restrictions)
- FOIPPA Foundations Certification
- NOCYFS-Specific Training
