Job Opportunity: Staff Solicitor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Solicitor to join our team in Yellowknife. As a Staff Solicitor, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and opinions on applications for legal aid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough and well-reasoned opinions on the merits of applications for legal aid
  • Work independently to manage files of increasing complexity in custody and child support applications and child protection matters
  • Collaborate with other lawyers and support staff to achieve team goals

Requirements:

  • Law Degree and eligibility for membership to the NWT Bar
  • Five years of experience as legal counsel practicing in the family law area
  • Experience working in a legal aid clinic environment and managing other lawyers and support staff
