About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance Services (GRCS) practice in Ottawa Atlantic. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and reporting of engagements, working collaboratively with senior professionals and independently on client projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out client engagements from planning through to reporting, focusing on governance, risk, and compliance for various clients across different industries.
  • Lead client interviews and discussions, conduct research and walkthroughs, review documentation, identify key risks, and develop relevant documentation such as process flows, risk and control matrices, and other deliverables.
  • Perform tests of design and operating effectiveness of higher-risk business processes and propose controls and/or control improvements to enhance the client's risk and control framework.
  • Identify process and control gaps and provide recommendations for improvement based on the client's specific business processes and industry-leading practices.
  • Analyze and synthesize information to create and deliver analyses, client engagement plans, deliverables, and reports.
  • Review and provide feedback on deliverables prepared by junior team members to support their growth and development.
  • Successfully manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, varying in size, scope, and complexity.
Requirements
  • Completion or pursuit of professional accountancy or other financial qualifications such as CA/CPA/MBA/Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
  • Minimum 2+ years of post-qualification experience in risk advisory, internal audit, or external audit.
  • Ability to secure Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience reviewing and identifying process improvements, and providing recommendations on policy, procedure, and internal controls.
  • Experience in preparing reports summarizing the results of work completed and identifying recommendations that add value to the client.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
