About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer-Aided Design Specialist to join our team at ASF Associates Inc. as a Drafting Professional. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing engineering designs and drawings, reading blueprints to determine work requirements, and supervising other drafting personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting
    • Prepare detailed engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design software.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and other documents to determine work requirements.
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and mentor junior drafting personnel to ensure high-quality work and efficient workflow.
    • Train new drafting personnel on company procedures and software.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Develop and prepare design sketches and technical reports.
    • Examine drawings for conformity and errors, and make necessary corrections.
    • Consult with clients, engineers, and production specialists to establish product requirements.
  • Certifications and Professional Development
    • Possess AutoCAD Certification or equivalent.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience
    • At least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language
    • Fluency in English.
Working Conditions
  • Work Term
    • Permanent position.
  • Work Hours
    • 30 to 40 hours per week.
