Job Title: Physiotherapy Assistant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at St. Catharines PhysioHeal & Massage. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our physiotherapists and occupational therapists in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare professionals in the delivery of patient care
  • Carry out treatment programs under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists
  • Develop information materials for patients
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients
  • Help medical examiners and physical therapists
  • Set up and dismantle equipment
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Lay out surgical instruments
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies
  • Reassemble equipment and assemble packs of sterile supplies and instruments for delivery to hospital departments
  • Record vital signs
  • Assist chiropractors with patient health education
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for re-use according to standardized safety practices
  • Maintain inventory of equipment
  • Document patient rehabilitation progress
  • Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas
  • Process files and paperwork
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history
  • Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments
  • Organize and maintain inventory

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

  • Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
