Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laundry Aide to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a Laundry Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and efficiency of our laundry services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the training and orientation of Environmental Services staff and students.
  • Follow departmental procedures to maintain consistency and quality of service throughout the Environmental Services Departments.
  • Clean assigned areas according to established cleaning schedules and infection control guidelines.
  • Prioritize and complete extra cleaning duties within established timeframes.
  • Conduct daily tours of areas of responsibility to inspect for cleanliness.
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and operating efficiently.
  • Perform duties of washing, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, and dusting using appropriate equipment and products.
  • Collect and process laundry and linen according to established standards and procedures.
  • May be required to make minor repairs to laundry and linen as needed.
  • Distribute laundry and linen as appropriate.
  • Restock supplies in all areas as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory procedures.
  • Participate in department quality control audits and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Grade 9 (Manitoba Standards) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated dexterity and efficient work methods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs and Internet applications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and display independent judgment.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population and maintain confidentiality.
