Laundry Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laundry Aide to join our team at Prairie Mountain Health. As a Laundry Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and efficiency of our laundry services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the training and orientation of Environmental Services staff and students.
- Follow departmental procedures to maintain consistency and quality of service throughout the Environmental Services Departments.
- Clean assigned areas according to established cleaning schedules and infection control guidelines.
- Prioritize and complete extra cleaning duties within established timeframes.
- Conduct daily tours of areas of responsibility to inspect for cleanliness.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and operating efficiently.
- Perform duties of washing, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, and dusting using appropriate equipment and products.
- Collect and process laundry and linen according to established standards and procedures.
- May be required to make minor repairs to laundry and linen as needed.
- Distribute laundry and linen as appropriate.
- Restock supplies in all areas as assigned.
- Assist with inventory procedures.
- Participate in department quality control audits and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 9 (Manitoba Standards) or equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated dexterity and efficient work methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs and Internet applications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and display independent judgment.
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population and maintain confidentiality.
