Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the overall operation of a store, ensuring maximum sales and profitability. This includes developing staff, controlling expenses and shrinkage, and managing all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Services
- Establish and maintain high standards of customer service.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Train and develop store staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
- Provide coaching and feedback to staff to improve performance and achieve goals.
- Assist the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store.
- Monitor and control expenses, including labor, inventory, and supplies.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce shrinkage and improve inventory control.
- Assist the Store Manager in planning and executing visual merchandising displays and promotions.
- Monitor and maintain store appearance, including cleanliness and organization.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements
- Minimum age requirement: 18
- Physical demands: In excess of 8 hours of standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Prior retail and/or management experience is required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Proven track record of success in a retail management role.
