Housing Finance Policy Expert

CANADA MORTGAGE AND HOUSING CORPORATION (CMHC) is seeking a highly skilled Housing Finance Policy Expert to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to developing policies relating to housing finance, with a focus on affordability, supply, economic stability, climate, and social inclusiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to access data and information related to housing finance and markets.
  • Provide expert advice on innovative policies, programs, and stakeholder inquiries.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify trends and assess domestic and international housing finance policies.
  • Lead or contribute to the development of presentations, briefing materials, and budget proposals for senior management.
  • Represent CMHC and communicate corporate priorities and policy positions to influence outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Economics or a related field with a demonstrated interest in public policy, research, or advocacy.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in quantitative analysis and policy advice and development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the housing finance system and critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to collect and synthesize significant amounts of data to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders to influence policy outcomes.
