Job Summary
The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Services Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of professional services and external partnerships to support the needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Homeschooling Team, comprising consultants and support staff, to ensure effective delivery of services.
- Coordinate all placements in specialized external schools and act as liaison with these establishments to ensure seamless transitions.
- Liaise with the Material Resources and Transportation Department to establish plans for students with specialized needs, ensuring timely and efficient support.
- Work with in-school professionals to supervise the allocation of student difficulty codes, derogations, modifications, and exemptions, ensuring accurate and fair assessments.
- Supervise professionals providing clinical services at the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board, ensuring high-quality support for students.
- Review students' academic, medical, and neuropsychological reports to validate and provide recommendations for accommodations, modifications, and external placements.
- Collaborate with school teams to identify difficulties, explore solutions, and provide recommendations for support, ensuring student success.
- Provide advice and support to parents, ensuring they are informed and engaged in their child's education.
- Work closely with the Assistant Director of Pedagogical Services on tasks related to special needs students, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study, certifying a minimum three-year university program, or hold a senior executive or senior staff position in a school board requiring an undergraduate degree.
- Have five years of relevant experience.
- Hold a Québec Teaching Licence.
Considered an Asset
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in a clinical field (psychology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy).
- Member of a professional order (Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology).
- Mastery of the English and French languages.
- Valid driver's licence.
