About the RoleThis is a permanent, full-time position responsible for implementing data governance and developing the enterprise capability. The role leads the bank in data management and control, minimising data risk, assuring data is compliant with regulatory obligations, uplifting data quality, and improving data literacy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the Enterprise Data Management Framework, including all policies, processes, and guidelines.
- Assess and rollout compliance to the Data Governance Policy to ensure that data supports operational needs and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and I.T. to ensure that data is protected based on its classification, how it is handled, and stored.
- Support the delivery of the Enterprise Business Information Model, including the definition of each data domain and the identification and documenting of critical data and data controls.
- Lead and grow a team of data governance specialists and data steward partners.
- Significant data governance experience, preferably in the banking or finance sector.
- Experience in team leadership or people management.
- Strong knowledge of APRA CPS234 and CPG235 and other data-related regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with modern data governance and metadata management platforms.
- Experience managing data risks and related compliance/assurance activities.
