We are seeking an experienced Cook, Ethnic Foods to join our team at ZYKA ELEVATED INDIAN RESTAURANT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and cooking traditional Indian dishes with a focus on South Indian and East Indian cuisine.
About the RoleThe Cook, Ethnic Foods is responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods. This includes preparing special meals for patients as instructed by dietitians or chefs, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, and cleaning kitchen and work areas.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- Order supplies and equipment.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas.
This role requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work under pressure. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and a non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
Salary InformationThe estimated annual salary for this role is $50,000-$60,000 CAD, based on industry standards and location. However, we offer competitive salaries and benefits to attract top talent.
