Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team at the Regina Correctional Centre. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for inmates, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce institutional rules and regulations to maintain order and discipline
  • Conduct regular security checks and patrols to prevent escapes and ensure the safety of inmates and staff
  • Provide support and guidance to inmates, including counseling and education programs
  • Collaborate with other correctional staff to develop and implement rehabilitation plans for inmates
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. criminology, psychology) an asset
  • Previous experience in a correctional setting or a related field (e.g. law enforcement, social work)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
