Job Title: Associate - Infection Prevention and Control

Concordia Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Associate - Infection Prevention and Control to join our team.

About the Role:

The Associate - Infection Prevention and Control will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and evaluating site adherence to provincial and regional Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C) policies, procedures, and operational directives. This includes directing staff and overseeing the timely implementation of recommended IP&C measures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and monitor site adherence to provincial and regional IP&C policies, procedures, and operational directives.
  • Direct staff and oversee the timely implementation of recommended IP&C measures.
  • Communicate and collaborate with site management and regional IP&C leadership regarding IP&C issues.
  • Ensure compliance with established provincial and regional infection control surveillance in LTC.
  • Provide IP&C guidance on routine practices, additional precautions, sterilization, disinfection, and cleaning processes, outbreak management, construction, renovation, and maintenance activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a clinical healthcare setting, or experience and training in microbiology and infectious diseases, epidemiology, or diagnostics.
  • Previous work experience in the field of IP&C is preferred.
  • Baccalaureate degree in a health-related field with a focus in direct clinical care, microbiology, epidemiology, or public health.
  • Completion of an IPAC Canada endorsed Infection Prevention and Control Course.
  • Certification in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Incorporated is an asset.
