Job Title: Mechanic

Matrix Camps is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our team. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our equipment, trucks, generators, and other machinery.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles, including Ford F-350/F-550 trucks and big Tex trailers.
  • Perform overhauls on Bombardier snowcats and other heavy equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance schedules, install component and part upgrades, and control corrosion.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems.
  • Oversee vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Must be willing to work in the shop and field conditions.
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Facilitate and participate in daily toolbox meetings.
  • Ensure work environment meets corporate safety practices.
  • Report unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications.
  • Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements:
  • Journeyperson Red Seal Mechanic certification (required, may consider a 4th year apprentice or equivalent combination of work experience).
  • A minimum 3-5 years equipment care and maintenance experience is required.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
