Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mine Closure Planning Specialist to join our team at ERM. As a key member of our Mine Closure team, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and strategic direction to our clients in the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in mine closure planning, including the development of strategic closure goals, closure objectives, and associated criteria.
  • Lead and/or support a wide range of services for mining projects related to capital project development and environmental assessments and permitting.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to ensure deliverables meet client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Mentor junior-level and mid-level consulting staff to support skillset development and knowledge sharing.
  • Proactively engage and network with other ERM staff regionally and globally to support business development and knowledge sharing.
  • Assume responsibility for project management, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, quality review of deliverables, and interaction with clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, science, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant mining experience, including mine closure planning, environmental coordination, and project management.
  • Strong project management skills, including development of work plans, budgets, schedules, and project controls.
  • Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and 'people' skills.
  • Experience with mining projects in BC and the North would be an asset.
  • Eligibility for professional registration (e.g., P.Eng, P.Geo, or P.Ag.) is an asset.
  • A complementary discipline to mining (i.e., water resources, ecology, etc.) is an asset.
  • Additional language skills (e.g., French and Spanish) are an asset.
