About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator and Project Coordinator to join our team at Prodigy Group. As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will play a critical role in supporting and independently managing project bids and tenders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and independently manage project bids and tenders utilizing strong local industry-based experience.
  • Assist in winning project opportunities in various sectors of the industry.
  • Build effective relationships with specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support Prodigy's core values and meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Research and communicate data on construction industry labor and material cost trends.
  • Maintain and constantly update Tender/Supplier lists according to varying project and company requirements.
  • Thoroughly review bid/RFP invitations and clearly and accurately present information to Prodigy senior leadership team to confirm bid/proposal intent.
  • Ensure the flow of project information is properly maintained and documented.
  • Attend project sites for walk-throughs and meetings.
  • Prepare estimate documentation, including project-specific tender bidder's lists, detailed written scopes of work, drawing and document logs, and accurate and thorough bid analyses and contract award recommendations.
Requirements
  • Certified Estimator (CEC) through the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveying and an Engineering degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural).
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience using MS Office Suite, MS Project, Bluebeam, ProCore, On-Screen Take-Off, and related estimating software.
  • Local experience in estimating interior renovation/fit-out and ground-up commercial construction as a general contractor and/or construction manager.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction documents, construction science, sequence of work, construction contracts, construction law, construction health and safety, and Ontario and other regional/provincial building codes.
