About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled physician leader to join our team as the Medical Director of the Adult Emergency Department at Health Sciences Centre (HSC). This is a critical leadership role that requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide medical leadership and guidance to the Adult Emergency Department team, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient department operations.
- To collaborate with provincial and regional stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for emergency department care across Manitoba.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives within the Adult Emergency Department.
- To represent the Adult Emergency Department in various meetings and committees, promoting effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
- To maintain a strong focus on education and research, enhancing the academic program and contributing to the growth of the department.
Requirements:
- Degree in medicine from a recognized university
- Licence to practice medicine in Manitoba
- Fellowship or certification in Emergency Medicine (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, College of Family Physicians of Canada, or American Board of Emergency Medicine)
- Eligible for appointment as a medical staff member with Shared Health
