Job SummaryWe are seeking a qualified Clinical Therapist to join our Lifestyle Medicine team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to address a range of mental health concerns experienced by Veterans, military personnel, and first responders.
- Provide individual and group counselling to clients using a variety of therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and CBT with a trauma focus.
- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care to clients with complex mental health needs.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families, and provide education and support to help them navigate their mental health concerns.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay current with new developments in the field.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and treatment plans.
- Master's degree in counselling or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Registration through the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) as an RCC or the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) as a CCC.
- A minimum of five years of experience in clinical counselling post Master's, with a focus on working with Veterans, military personnel, and first responders who may be experiencing a range of mental health conditions.
- Experience in Group Therapy and facilitation.
- Certification or established skills in one or more of the following: EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and CBT with a trauma focus, or other evidence-based treatments for PTSD or other conditions.
- Patient, autonomous work ethic, with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
