Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Cook to join our team at Easton's Group of Hotels. As an integral part of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation: Prepare meals for our restaurants and outlets, ensuring that guests receive high-quality food items in a timely manner. Coordinate the smooth service in relation to the pass and pick-up of food.
  • Line Setup and Supervision: Organize the day's prepping for the cooks and restaurants; supervise line set-up and prepping.
  • Inventory Management: Advise supervisor of low inventory items or may order necessary food items. Assist in receiving items and taking inventory as needed.
  • Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and hotel requirements.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Report all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the training of kitchen staff; ensure that all cook's duties have been performed during shift.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include Sales and Marketing, Catering, Banquets, Outlets, Maintenance, and Guest Services. May occasionally interact directly with guests.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to perform functions with minimal supervision.
  • Additional Duties: May assist by performing ware washer/dishwasher or other kitchen duties as needed. Help Cooks I and II as needed. May assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful as an Executive Cook, you should have:

  • Culinary Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in food preparation, or equivalent combination of education and food preparation experience.
  • Certifications: Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship and Red Seal Certification.
