Job Description

Job Title: Primary Teacher K-3

Job Summary:

G.A.D. Elementary School is seeking an exceptional Primary Teacher to join our team. As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a collaborative and inquiry-based learning environment for students in grades K-3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a student-centered approach to teaching and learning
  • Integrate First Nations principles of learning into your practice
  • Support the growth and development of individual learners through differentiated learning techniques
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and implement an extraordinary learning experience for each student
  • Build relationships with teachers and staff across the school community
  • Set annual professional growth goals
  • Participate in the co-curricular program

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Relevant university qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Education plus Bachelor of Arts, Science or equivalent)
  • B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification qualification criteria
  • Comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in the BC Ministry of Education documents
  • Commitment to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communicative, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to think on your feet
  • Commitment to continued professional development and growth
  • Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program
  • BC certification with COQ or SR Independent certificate
  • Legal to work in Canada
