About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at GARCHA BROS MEAT SHOP & POULTRY. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the size of food portions and costs to ensure efficient food preparation and minimize waste.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-stocked kitchen and ensure efficient food preparation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient food preparation and minimize waste.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Manage kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and minimize waste.
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
