Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer, Analysis

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer, Analysis to join our Reactor & Major Components - Analysis team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems, and structures, including mechanical equipment.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team to complete the design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems, and structures, including mechanical equipment.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components.
  • Prepare formal technical reports and review design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.
  • Develop and execute engineering budgets and support proposal preparation.
  • Ensure engineering activities are completed within budget and schedule.
  • Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers.
  • Respond promptly to engineering-related matters and provide resolutions.
  • Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy Quality Assurance programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.
  • Coordinate and interface with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other design disciplines or departments to execute assigned engineering work.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • At least 8-12 years of related work experience in the field of design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment (Working knowledge of the CANDU design, and fuel channel and Calandria Vessel design is preferred).
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA/ABAQUS.
