Job Overview

As a key member of our construction team, the Estimator will play a crucial role in analyzing costs and preparing estimates to facilitate the construction of new homes. This position requires a strong understanding of costs and benefits to support profitable business decisions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough project take-offs and estimate job files to ensure accuracy and completeness, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers and trades, fostering positive relationships and soliciting quotes to stay up-to-date on pricing and options.
  • Prepare and distribute purchase orders, change orders, and other required documents to suppliers or trades, ensuring accuracy and cohesion.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing, Production, and Construction teams on project changes, contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Stay current with product catalogues and pricing, ensuring the most up-to-date information is posted.
  • Liaise with the Design Center on product upkeep, including new and discontinued products.
  • Work closely with the Production Administrator on building spec files.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of estimating-related experience in the construction industry, with at least 1 year in residential construction.
  • Satisfactory verification of a criminal record check.
  • Proficiency in office equipment, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint), and estimating software (BuildPro, SupplyPro, NewStar, or similar).
