Job Title: Greenhouse Worker - Farm Operations

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Greenhouse Worker to join our team at Southshore Greenhouse Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to farm operations, including harvesting fruits and vegetables, monitoring plant problems, and operating farm equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Harvest fruits and vegetables using hand tools such as shears and knives.
  • Monitor plants for problems such as diseases, weeds, and insect pests, and report to the supervisor.
  • Inspect product prior to packaging and ensure that quality specifications are met.
  • Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery.
  • Report quality or crop issues to the labour supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 23 kg/50 lbs).
  • Ability to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period.
  • Ability to work in a changing temperature environment.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.

Working Conditions: The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
