Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Treasury Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our accounting functions, you will provide support in treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial planning, and corporate development. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Updating a two-year rolling cash and debt model with actual input from corporate accounting and forecast input from business units and corporate office.
  • Preparing monthly reporting on capital expenditures, including actual spend and forecast from the business, and writing insightful variance commentary for the review of the Director, Finance.
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations, posting journal entries, and performing account reconciliations for treasury department-related accounts.
  • Updating quarterly debt covenant compliance certificates.
  • Preparing quarterly reporting on the cash conversion cycle, including actuals, collaborating with the business to understand changes in trend, and reflecting those findings in the report.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reports on cash, debt, and interest expense.
  • Assessing short-term cash needs daily and taking action as needed through short-term cash investments, foreign exchange trades and settlements, and draws and repayments of debt.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendors, customers, and banks.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex banking issues affecting needed service and following up with the bank to ensure swift resolution.
  • Supporting wire payment processes through online banking platforms, checking for accuracy and appropriate backup.
  • Supporting the business with lease vs. buy analysis for material handling equipment.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of treasury and/or accounting experience.
  • Previous cash flow forecasting experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced Excel use and comfort in creating complex formulas, spreadsheets, and data visualization.
  • Independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, elevating issues where appropriate.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Keenness to learn and cross-train in various areas of treasury.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Organized and comfortable self-scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset:

  • CTP, CFA, CPA, or MBA.
  • Previous experience with SAP.
