Canadian Tire Corporation seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to join its External Reporting team. This role is responsible for preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as providing technical accounting support.

About the Role

This position requires a strong understanding of IFRS disclosure requirements and accounting fundamentals. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting, with a CPA designation (CA, CGA or CMA) and a degree in Business, Finance/Accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS;
  • Deliver financial statement notes and cash flow statements;
  • Prepare and coordinate the production and delivery of the Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A);
  • Provide technical accounting memos and analysis on various accounting issues;
  • Work with internal audit, certification program office, and external auditors to demonstrate execution of internal controls over financial reporting;
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to deliver process enhancements and improve productivity;
  • Liaise with Legal, Tax, Investor Relations, FP&A, and other Canadian Tire business units to collect and validate information;
  • Prepare quarterly calendars to set timelines for the financial reporting process;
  • Support accounting teams across the organization to ensure they understand data, processes, and tools used for external reporting.
Requirements
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (CA, CGA or CMA);
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting;
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS disclosure requirements and accounting fundamentals;
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Solid analytical, quantitative, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Team spirit and commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Canadian Tire Corporation offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
