Job Summary

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for leading our passionate team and ensuring compliance with all applicable SCP standards for pharmacy managers, as well as provincial and federal laws governing pharmacy practice. This role requires a strong leader who can manage team scheduling, new hire training, and adherence to operational processes to support the fulfillment of team goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage team scheduling and new hire training to ensure efficient and effective team operations.
  • Ensure adherence to operational processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the prescription fulfillment, packaging, and verification department, including managing weekly prescription batch schedules and optimizing robotic packagers and optical verification machines.
  • Use analytics and metrics to improve production efficiency and investigate production-related incidents.
  • Develop and oversee onboarding and training of new employees, as well as cross-training of existing employees.
  • Coach and motivate team members through positive reinforcement and challenges.
  • Balance the needs of multiple teams and effectively communicate the 'why' behind decisions.
Requirements
  • Registration and good standing with Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to remain unbiased when assigning tasks and resolving disputes.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and delegation skills.
  • Availability outside regular business hours as applicable.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with persons of varying levels across the organization in a professional and mature manner.
  • Highly organized and possess excellent time management skills.
  • Skilled in critical thought processes and able to prioritize appropriately.
  • Self-directed and has strong accountability for overall pharmacy results.
  • Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality.
  • Must demonstrate good listening skills and be adaptable to changes in the job environment.
  • Certified in LEAN or Six Sigma, would be an asset; previous knowledge of process re-engineering will be important.
