About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join 837 GlaxoSmithKline Inc. as a Therapeutic Specialist in Hematology Oncology. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in expediting access to hematology oncology medicines and partnering with healthcare professionals and hospitals to support patients throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic business plan to maximize territory growth, setting short and long-term objectives for customers, healthcare professionals, and hospitals to achieve mid to long-term objectives and surpass targets.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of customers, hospitals, and the provincial/hospital oncology environment, identifying key decision-makers and developing effective engagement strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on GSK products, strategies, positioning, and POA in the hematology oncology space, as well as competitor companies, products, and positioning.
- Engage healthcare professionals in scientific discussions to challenge the status quo and raise task tension, ensuring GSK products are optimally prescribed to the right patient at the right time.
- Develop effective internal relationships and collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to create new ideas and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Embody accountability and empowerment, making quick decisions that consider all key internal and external stakeholders.
- Take a bigger picture view when making trade-off decisions, prioritizing the best opportunity to support healthcare professionals across the country.
- Contribute to a results-oriented working environment by bringing positive energy and commitment to delivering on objectives.
- Comply with all rules, policies, and procedures, both internally and during customer interactions.
- Represent GSK in a way that consistently demonstrates respect, transparency, and integrity, putting patients first and protecting the company reputation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree completed, advanced scientific degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Significant and recent hematological oncology experience (minimum 5 years) is preferred, especially in markets inclusive of key academic centers.
- In the absence of current hematological oncology expertise, proven and outstanding performance in launching a product in a competitive market is essential.
- Self-starter who is driven by a desire to leave a lasting positive impact on the healthcare system and hematology oncology patients, regardless of barriers.
- Persuasive individual willing to productively challenge the status quo for the benefit of the patient, both internally and externally with customers and stakeholders who may have ingrained beliefs and behaviors.
- Innovative, agile, and fearless collaborator with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, a natural curiosity, and an ability to actively listen.
- Experience in multi-tasking, prioritizing, managing a breadth and volume of activities on a day-to-day basis to satisfactory conclusion and delivering to required timelines.
- Working knowledge of computer technology, Office-based applications, and agility to learn new programs.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to travel within territory and domestically as required.
