Job Title: Counter Salesperson

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Counter Salesperson. As a key member of our Profit Centre team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized counter area, and supporting sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide sales support to walk-in customers, answering questions and assisting with product selection
  • Maintain a clean and organized counter area, including merchandising displays and inventory
  • Process sales orders, including entering, picking, and packing orders
  • Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable duties
  • Research products and provide recommendations to customers
  • Drive sales growth through counter merchandising and product promotion
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Ability to learn and operate software systems used to process orders
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre
  • Ability to use the Internet as a resource to problem solve and find alternative solutions for customers
  • Experience using M3, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
