The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher (PT) plays a vital role in the success of Coast Hotels by providing exceptional support and upholding the highest quality standards in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, clean, and maintain dishwashing equipment to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Complete assigned prep work to support the kitchen team during regular service and banquet events.
  • Adhere to Coast Hotels' standards when completing tasks to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the property, other ambassadors, and guests while performing tasks.
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory levels to prevent shortages and ensure efficient operations.
  • Represent Coast Hotels as an ambassador and demonstrate a customer service attitude with internal and external contacts.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the kitchen team.

Requirements:

  • Some experience in a similar role is an asset; preference will be given to candidates who have completed a culinary arts or professional cook training program.
  • FoodSafe or equivalent certification is required.
  • Hepatitis A Vaccination is recommended.
  • Physical mobility and stamina are necessary to perform the duties of the role.
  • A professional attitude and appearance are essential for representing Coast Hotels.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial for success in this role.
  • The ability to take verbal direction and read and apply instructions is necessary.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail is required.
  • Good time management and organizational skills are essential for efficient operations.
  • WHMIS training is an asset.
  • Coast's core values and a culture of accountability are essential for success in this role.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
