**Teach and Mentor in Skilled Trades at Sheridan**
We are seeking experienced professionals to join our faculty team in the Industrial Mechanic Millwright (IMM) Skilled Trades apprenticeship program at Sheridan College. As a professor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and contribute to the advancement of your field.
We are looking for individuals with expertise in millwright machinists, millwright welders, and millwright electricians. The successful candidates will teach subjects in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by Skilled Trades Ontario: Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A).
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering high-quality course content that meets the needs of students;
- Evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback;
- Tutoring and academic counselling students to support their academic success;
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum and assess student learning;
- Participating in faculty meetings and contributing to departmental decision-making.
Requirements:
- Licensed Industrial Mechanic Millwright (Trade Code 433A) or Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright);
- Minimum of 5 years related professional experience;
- Availability to teach daytime, evenings, and weekends;
- Demonstrated expertise in current materials, tools/equipment, and industry practices;
- Formal studies in adult or higher education an asset;
- Demonstrable ability to convey complex concepts to students from diverse backgrounds;
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, especially the D2L platform, is an asset;
- Strong connections within the Skilled Trades industry.
