We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Markham Stouffville Hospital Corporation. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients in our acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their occupational needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide expert consultation and education to patients, families, and caregivers on occupational therapy techniques and strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans to promote patient independence and functional ability.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy to ensure evidence-based care.
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, in good standing.
- Experience in neurology, geriatrics, and musculoskeletal disorders is required.
- ADP authorizer designation is an asset.
- Experience with wheelchair and seating assessment/prescription.
- Minimum 1 year experience in the acute and subacute patient setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as a member of the team.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with support personnel.
- Experience with electronic documentation preferred.
- Evidence of continuing education and professional development.
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organizations related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
The successful candidate will be required to work 8 hour day shifts, primarily, Monday to Sunday. This is inclusive of a minimum of two weekdays and two weekends within each 6-week period.

Required to work between both Markham and Reactivation Care Centre (RCC) sites
CompensationOPCOM12: $53.98 per hour
