Industrial Maintenance Technician

GFL Environmental is seeking an Industrial Laborer to support the liquids line of business. Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain assigned projects on a daily basis.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and equipment in the Industrial Services Shop.
• Perform power washing and high-pressure water blasting as required.
• Conduct line snaking, drain, and pipe inspections as needed.
• Clean industrial areas, including chemical non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
• Assist with vacuum truck and plant operations as required.
• Enter confined spaces for rescue and maintenance as needed.
• Work in tight or cramped spaces and while wearing a respirator or supplied air breathing apparatus.
• Perform tasks such as shoveling, jack hammering, squeegee, scraping, and heavy lifting as required.
• Operate a pick-up truck, utility trailer, forklift, excavator, bobcat, and other equipment as needed.
• Operate aerial boom lifts and scissor lifts as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Must have a G class license at minimum.
• Must be willing to be clean-shaven.
• Ability to work flexible hours, shifts, days, evenings, nights, and weekends or holidays.
• 2-5 years of experience in industrial cleaning and maintenance is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with vacuum trucks, industrial power-washing, or water-blasting, or liquid waste industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with confined space entry or work at heights is an asset.
• Experience working with respirators and supplied air systems is an asset.
• Must be comfortable driving and maneuvering a pick-up truck and trailer unit.
