Job Description:
This role involves participating in daily animal care duties, ensuring optimal levels of care are administered to the animals based on the Five Freedoms. As an Animal Care Attendant, you will work collaboratively with our team to maintain a clean, sanitary, and efficient environment for the animals. Your responsibilities will include monitoring animal health and welfare, maintaining accurate records, and administering proper diets and enrichment activities.
Some Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the physical plant in a clean, sanitary, and efficient manner
- Ensure kennels, runs, and cat cages meet the highest standards of animal care
- Monitor animal health and welfare through regular checks and record-keeping
- Administer proper diets, exercise, and enrichment activities to promote animal well-being
- Treat animals humanely and with compassion, adhering to our organization's five freedoms
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in animal care or a related field is considered an asset. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $20.50-$30 per hour, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes extended health and dental coverage, paid vacation time, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
