Establish a Consulting Community Practice

As a pediatrician with Island Health, you will have the opportunity to establish a consulting community practice with a supportive team of colleagues. The practice will be funded with a 1:6-7 on-call schedule, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility with a dedicated pediatric ward and new outpatient facility. The hospital is supported by a core team of pediatric nurses, a dietician, a diabetic nurse educator, and a full-time child life worker.

Level 2b NICU and Pediatric Services

The hospital's new 9-bed, level 2b NICU provides provincial beds to infants >32 weeks gestation, including short-term ventilation and TPN. The pediatric ward offers a range of services, including consultation and education for families and healthcare professionals.
