Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team in Western Canada. As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in providing advisory services to customers and third-party contractors on existing and newly acquired equipment and components.

In this role, you will work independently to complete tasks and activities, solving daily technical service issues and ensuring that customer requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance for the installation and commissioning of equipment and components.
  • Carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis as required, undertaking service and repair of products and systems.
  • Keep accurate records regarding job progress, delays, problems, deliveries, changes, extras, and engineering and fabrication errors.
  • Report back on completed projects outlining activities carried out, faults found during service, and any future recommendations for improving the service offering.
  • Train customer staff in methods to maintain and repair equipment, ensuring knowledge is transferred.
  • Conduct audits at customer sites to record and analyze process improvement opportunities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • 4+ years of experience in the field with instrumentation and electromechanics, preferably in a pulp and paper manufacturing environment.
  • A technical school diploma in instrumentation, electromechanics, or mechatronics.
  • A University or Collegial Degree in electronics, electro-mechanics, or instrumentation.
