Job Description

The Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Lead to join our team. This key position will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communications plans to support the Authority's mission and goals.

About the Role

This dynamic role will involve working closely with senior management, communications teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication of the Authority's message to internal and external audiences. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic communications plans: Collaborate with senior management and communications teams to develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that align with the Authority's goals and objectives.
  • Manage social media channels: Oversee the management of the Authority's social media platforms, including content creation, engagement, and analytics reporting.
  • Produce engaging content: Develop and edit written, visual, and multimedia content to support the Authority's communications objectives, including press releases, articles, videos, and graphics.
  • Communicate with stakeholders: Work closely with senior management, employees, customers, and other stakeholders to build relationships, gather feedback, and share information about the Authority's activities and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree: In journalism, communications, public relations, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in communications, marketing, or a related field, preferably in a similar role.
  • Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal and project management skills.
