Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Store Manager to lead our garden centre team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining excellent customer service standards, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and coaching to staff to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction
  • Maintain and respect standards for excellent customer service and ensure clientele development
  • Merchandise within the store to drive traffic and increase sales
  • Communicate with Buyers regarding growth opportunities, problem areas, and key items
  • Participate in and be accountable for store operations, budgets, and shortage control
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of management experience in the retail/service industry - ideally in a garden centre
  • An interest in and knowledge of horticulture and gardening
  • A demonstrated leadership ability – building relationships naturally
  • Developing staff by evaluating and providing performance coaching, fostering a team environment to meet store and company objectives
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Is self-aware, open to feedback
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
