The School District 83 seeks a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Director of Financial Operations. As part of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. This includes providing direction and support for accounting, payroll, and benefits functions, as well as coordinating district financial systems.

This is an exempt position with a competitive salary range of $100,171 - $125,214 per annum, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. We are seeking a candidate with a strong understanding of Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) and experience in managing unionized staff in a complex computerized accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Finance Department
  • Provide direction and support for accounting, payroll, and benefits functions
  • Coordinate district financial systems
  • Ensure compliance with PSAS

Requirements:

  • Recognized accounting designation (CPA)
  • Minimum five years' experience in managing unionized staff in a complex computerized accounting department
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of PSAS
