Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Bouchier is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in the Athabasca Oil Sands region. As a key member of our site services team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform Labourer duties as required
  • Read, countersign, and enter comments into daily operator logbook
  • Complete and document pre-operational checks on assigned equipment
  • Grease equipment as necessary
  • Ensure all equipment has proper safety equipment in place
  • Keep interior clean
  • Communicate required repairs to maintenance personnel
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers and other employees
  • Participate in Job Hazard Assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments, and line-up meetings
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years' experience operating heavy equipment with GPS
  • Highway maintenance experience
  • Valid Class 3, Class 1
  • Ability to lift and pull up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in all weather
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Safety conscious attitude
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019)
  • Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol and a Fit for Duty Test
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
