Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a proven track record in managing and executing geotechnical investigations, designing geotechnical structures, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. As a key member of our Calgary office, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across various sectors, including civil infrastructure, industrial developments, and renewable energy initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality geotechnical design and consulting services.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, budget management, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development activities, identifying new opportunities and contributing to proposal preparation.
  • Client Relations: Foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders through effective communication and project coordination.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university. A postgraduate degree or doctorate is desirable.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years' experience in geotechnical engineering design and consulting, primarily in Alberta or Western Canada. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status with APEGA is required or the ability to obtain it.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with common geotechnical software, such as GeoStudio, LPILE, gINT, and Settle3. Experience with finite element analysis software, like PLAXIS, is an asset.

 

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $85,000 and $110,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, Stantec offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
