About this Role:This role is ideal for an experienced construction manager who is looking for a change of pace and a chance to work on a variety of projects. As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting the project manager in overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the project manager in developing detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to establish project requirements and specifications.
- Help prepare and present project proposals and budgets to clients and senior management.
- Contribute to creating and managing project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking expenses, and financial reporting.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices and ensure that expenditures align with the approved budget.
- Identify and address potential cost overruns and budgetary concerns promptly.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes and delays.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Evaluate and implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Support the project manager in leading and managing construction teams, including subcontractors and field personnel.
- Provide clear direction, support, and feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, resolving conflicts and addressing performance issues as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in construction management or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and building codes.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to visit construction sites and inspect work conditions. Occasional travel to project sites and meetings may be necessary.
Compensation:
The annual salary range for this position is $110 k – 130 k, commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include medical and dental coverage, RRSP plan with up to 50% employer match, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
