Job Title: Workplace Language Training (WLT) Program Lead / Job Developer

Centre for Skills Development is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Workplace Language Training (WLT) Program Lead / Job Developer. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position that will play a key role in coordinating, managing, and promoting customer service and skilled trades language programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor language instructors and administrative staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs.
  • Design and deliver workshops to provide one-on-one coaching and group facilitation to participants on topics related to job search, career planning, self-assessment, and labour market research within the skilled trades and customer service sectors.
  • Organize special events such as job fairs and employer guest speaking engagements to provide networking opportunities for participants and enhance the overall program.
  • Execute program administrative tasks such as program registration, candidate screening and selection, attendance, and internal and external reporting.
  • Assist clients with their job search, resumes, and researching education/training needs.
  • Provide one-on-one support for job matching and advocate for clients to assist them in securing interviews and employment.
  • Collaborate with the Workforce Development team to help clients make connections to employers.
  • Conduct research on career planning, job searching, and employment-related topics within the WLT project to keep clients informed and up-to-date.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma (Career Development Practitioner diploma/certificate an asset).
  • Job Development and employer outreach experience.
  • Understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks and Language Assessment Centre processes an asset.
  • Comfort with cold calling, delivering presentations, and conducting in-person/phone meetings with employers.
  • Broad-based knowledge of current labour market trends and community services relating to employment, training, job retention, mental health, disability, Ontario Works, newcomers/ESL, etc.
