Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with carpet;
- Prepare detailed floor plans and scheduling to ensure efficient installation process;
- Cut and install carpeting on floors, walls, or other surfaces, using various techniques and tools;
- Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations to ensure optimal results;
- Estimate costs and materials for each project, considering client budget and requirements;
- Prepare floors for installations by removing existing coverings and contaminants, and performing necessary repairs;
- Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces, using specialized techniques and equipment;
- Perform direct glue-down carpet installations, double-bond carpet installations, and outdoor carpet installations;
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate installation;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in carpet installation, preferably in a commercial setting;
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work and meeting project deadlines;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members;
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and specifications;
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment;
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects, if necessary;
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
