We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Care Advocate to join our team at Northwest Employment Works. In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who have experienced trauma and violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and care to individuals who have experienced trauma and violence
- Work collaboratively with shelter staff to ensure the safety and well-being of residents
- Coordinate activities and services, including meal preparation and housekeeping duties
- Complete admissions, handle referrals, and discharge residents as required
- Advocate on behalf of residents to ensure they receive the support and services they need
Requirements:
- A genuine interest in issues surrounding victims of crime and violence
- Will to train and work with families fleeing violence
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Experience working with women who have been abused
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
